When the Blessings Keep Moving

This morning I woke up thinking about the joyous opportunities this day might bring to offer the Creator's blessings to others.

But the longer I sat with that thought, the more one word caught my attention:

Offer.

What does it really mean to offer the Creator's blessings?

Most of my life, when I heard the word blessing, I thought about something received. An opportunity. A talent. A relationship. An answered prayer. Something good that came into my life.

But this morning, I began to wonder whether I had been looking at only half of it.

What if some blessings were never intended to stop with me?

Perhaps the Creator gives me wisdom because somewhere along the way, somebody will need what I have learned. Perhaps I survived something because one day I will recognize another person walking through it. Perhaps I was given a voice because there will be moments when silence will not serve. Perhaps I have been given another morning simply because there is still something I can contribute.

That changes the question.

Instead of asking, “How have I been blessed?”

I begin asking, “Where is this blessing supposed to go next?”

Now stewardship means more than being thankful for what I have received. It means becoming responsible for what passes through my hands.

And maybe that is why the Creator gives differently to each of us. One teaches. Another builds. Someone listens. Someone encourages. Someone remembers the story everybody else has forgotten.

None of us has to do everything.

We simply have to recognize what has been placed in our hands—and refuse to let it end there.

Because the greatest evidence that I have received a blessing... is that eventually,

Someone besides me is blessed by it.

Blessings, Elfen
